Springin' Break

Spring break is over. Big Bummer. This first week back at work was very difficult, and Friday was crazy, but almost finishing an entire crossword all by myself (all but 5 blocks) made me feel a lot better.

Here's what I did during my break:

Friday I helped these people
drink this bowl of punch.

Saturday Dylan and I went to a show at Death by Audio.
Flight
Beaches

Total Slacker
Sunday we ate brunch at Teddy's down the street. This food looks good, but mine didn't taste very good.
Later I met some friends at the Brooklyn Bowl to see the Vivian Girls for free. Then we bowled. That wasn't free, but it was fun.
Monday I tried Bikram Yoga for the first time at the place across the street from our apartment. I almost threw up and blacked out at one point, but I powered through and managed to do all the poses.

Tuesday Dylan and I ate bagels at the Bagel Store and went to MOMA so he could become a member.
Dylan had to leave, but I stayed and checked out the exhibitions.
Picasso.
Tim Burton. I was impressed! There was a lot to see!
The insane Marina Abramovic.
Tuesday night, me and four other ladies played trivia at the Charleston and ended up at 3rd place out of 18! We won a Sweet Valley High book.
Then we went to The Woods for some karaoke. This is a good pic of my friend Liz singing.

Wednesday I did some more Bikram Yoga. That night the Galaxy Queens played at Public Assembly.

Thursday, Dylan and I went on a walk to some of the galleries in our neighborhood and I took pictures of things.
These wallflowers were kind of mesmerizing.

I can't remember the name of this artist, but we liked it. One half of the exhibit was tiny, realistic portraits of very normal people and the other half was this stuff:

We took a coffee/crossword break at delicious Oslo.

More art.
This artist put a lens and tiny flowers behind a wall and when you looked in it was like a tiny world of flowers and grass. It was magical. You can buy it for your house for only $7,000.
A kitty cat.

We headed home and I made this tasty Mediterranean mac n' cheese.

Friday I did more Bikram and later that night was blown away by this movie I had never seen before.

Saturday I did more Bikram and went to a show with my friends Kaitlyn and Joel.
Traveling Circle.

We ended up at this silly dance party where there was a screen that said the same four things over and over.
DANCE (makes sense).
TOUCH MY FACE (hmmm...)
DIE (what?!)

and this one says CHERYL. The weirdest one of all.

Easter Sunday, Kaitlyn and I went to mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Catholics don't sing much.

I made deviled eggs. Alton Brown told me to mix caper juice and Dijon mustard with the yolks. They were gross.

Sunday evening we met up with Mike and friends to celebrate his birthday at Mars 2112. It's a restaurant that takes you to Mars for only $2.

Aliens!

Monday, I admired this tree outside our back window. The flowers are already gone.
Our neighbor's laundry.

Monday night I went to another birthday celebration, for Liz Tracy!
We ate burgers and cake and watched The Blindside. Let's just say The Blindside didn't impress me quite as much as Dog Day Afternoon.
