other things

Here are some pictures of different things, in no particular order...

This is my morning walk to school from the bus stop.

One night, rappers were shooting a music video in front of our apartment building.

Dylan and I spent a Sunday afternoon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Dylan liked the Oceanic art.

These are pictures from a beautiful fall day in Brooklyn's Prospect Park with our friend Jessica.

The street read "and bread". Weird.

Christmas trees for sale...

We moved into a new place!  (Just kidding.  This is an especially gross subway stop.)

There are these King of the Hill things around.  This is Mike Leech.

Dylan and I spent a Sunday afternoon at the New Museum.  It was neat.  The 7th floor has a roof observatory.

Dylan and I ate this delicious pizza at John's Pizza.  We eat pizza a lot. Yum!

warm weather

On Monday it was 65 degrees here.  I looked at the weather for Mankato and saw that the high was -5.  I couldn't believe it.  We were walking around without coats on!

I met Karly down in mid-town and we watched people ice skate at Bryant Park.  It was nice.  NYC likes to decorate for Christmas.  Here are some pics I took.

Macy's store window:

Karly and I under the pretty tree in Bryant Park.

People hustling, bustling and spending lots of money outside Macy's in Herald Square.  There were these cool lights in the trees that moved like rain drops.

New York Thanksgiving

Wednesday evening, Dylan, Mike Leech, my co-worker Natalie and I decided to check out the Macy's parade balloons being blown up.  We thought, since it wasn't the actual parade that it would be a little more low-key.  It was not.  There were way too many people and all the balloons were tied down, so you couldn't really see them.  I don't think I'll go next year.

Thanksgiving day was really nice. We were invited to our friend Jessica's friend Heidi's apartment in Brooklyn. Dylan had to work at the coffee shop in the morning.  I headed over to Brooklyn early to make the stuffing and stuff it into the turkey.  I also made a sweet potato pie topped with pecans, which turned out nice.  After the big meal we al watched White Christmas and Elf.  Then Dylan and I headed back up to Harlem.

Matt made a turducken.  It looks like an alien.

Dylan and Mike ate a lot of dessert.

our surroundings.

Sometimes I buy bananas from this guy.

This is the subway station that we frquent the most.

Harlem Hospital.

The block next to ours is cuter.

This is the view outside of our window.

This is me out on our fire escape.

The church across the street. On Sunday tourists from all over the world line up outside.

Our street loves Obama.

The Harlem Hospital is at the end of the block.
