You sure he didn't say "two hoops about it"? That might mean that if you got your ears pierced Dylan would not give you two hoop earrings as a gift. If that's true then it sounds like he wants your ears to stay the same. I wouldn't risk it, MacKenzie, and I certainly wouldn't pester him with any more questions.

I had them pierced in 2nd grade once but then they got all infected and I gave up.
